This post is for everyone I’ve taken writing classes with, or who has wished they had the funds, time and/or energy to write a book.
A friend, Jonathan Davidson, MFA, is inviting anyone who wants to write a book, to do so along with him. In his video series he is sharing knowledge including gems he discovered while completing his MFA degree.
Fascinating: a Google search for “What color is the sky,” returns 1.99 billion suggestions while “how often do people truly help others for free” returns “about 6,260,000,000!”
(How long ago did the first search return 1 billion results—but that’s a question for another day).
Several episodes of his series, "Writing a Novel" are available, and I will be joining him. I want to make even more writers aware so they can participate.
I have many yesses: Yes, I completed the Master of Professional Writing Program at USC; yes, I was inspired by amazing writers and industry professionals while in the program and in the classes I took after completing it. Yes, I was excited and energized on the USC campus and preparing for each class, yes I shared what I learned in this blog and finally yes, I am one of the too-many writers who has stopped writing outside of work.
I see Jonathan, the creator of this series almost every day and I know there are no strings attached; he is truly helping others for free.
I plan to blog about my journey here; my experience begins knowing that I gave 100 percent of my creative process for creating pieces to fulfill an assignment, for a grade and perhaps not for the joy of writing. The joy starts here!
